PT Bumi Sarana Beton (BSB), also known as Kalla Beton, celebrated its 27th anniversary on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. The celebration was held simply with a traditional tumpeng cutting ceremony at the Kalla Beton office on Manunggal Street, Tamalate District, Makassar City.
At 27 years old, Kalla Beton is expanding its business to the island of Kalimantan, targeting the development of the new capital city, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN). This was stated by Ali Syamsu Wairooy, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Kalla Beton. He explained that until now, Kalla Beton has operated only in Makassar, Gorontalo, and Kendari, but is now entering Kalimantan. “We will participate in the development of IKN. This is a significant opportunity,” he said after the event. The company has conducted a site visit to the IKN location. Kalla Beton plans to begin operations in the first half of this year. “We have already been there to explore the opportunity. God willing, we will enter the market soon. Starting operations in March would be ideal,” he added.
Kalla Beton plans to open a branch to support its involvement in the IKN development. Balikpapan and Samarinda, both located in East Kalimantan, are considered potential locations. “We have big plans for IKN. Most likely, we will establish a branch there—either in Balikpapan or Samarinda. We will assess the potential and monitor the development closely,” said Ali Syamsu Wairooy.
Meanwhile, Syam’un Saebe, President Commissioner of Kalla Beton, stated that at 27 years old, Kalla Beton has expanded to Eastern Indonesia and has a presence in Jakarta, with Kalimantan as the next target. With its experience, equipment, and human resources, achieving national-level company status is within reach. “Our hope is to make Kalla Beton even greater in the future. God willing, with our shared commitment, we can make this company stronger and more successful,” he said. Zumadi Anwar, Director of Development and Construction at Kalla Group, hopes that Kalla Beton’s performance will continue to improve as it marks its 27th anniversary. “Kalla Beton will be better than ever. Maintain the existing culture and keep improving,” he said.
