Kalla Beton Tile Adhesive: Easy & Strong Floor Installation

MAKASSAR – Kalla Beton has expanded its instant mortar product line by launching a new product: tile adhesive, making floor installation easier for customers.

Lukmanul Hakim, Manager of Instant Mortar and Lime at Kalla Beton, explained that the company previously offered various types of products derived from instant mortar, such as adhesives, plaster, skim coat, and rendering, all primarily focused on wall or lightweight brick applications.

“We saw an opportunity in developing mortar-based products beyond wall applications. That’s when we decided to enter the flooring segment, where tile adhesive is a major need,” he explained.

He stated that the raw materials used in tile adhesive are mostly similar to other instant mortar products, with only slight differences in specifications. Kalla Beton spent one to two months testing the product to ensure it met current market quality standards.

“We’ve even received feedback from several customers saying that besides flooring, Kalla Beton’s tile adhesive is also effective for installing tiles on walls. This proves that our tile adhesive has been tested and offers excellent bonding strength,” said Lukman.

Kalla Beton offers two types of tile adhesive—Standard and Premium—packaged in 25-kilogram bags. The standard type is priced at IDR 110,000 per bag, while the premium version costs between IDR 130,000 and IDR 140,000 per bag.

“With the premium tile adhesive, customers don’t need to remove old flooring before installing new tiles. They can simply apply the adhesive directly over the existing floor—tile on tile—which significantly improves efficiency during installation,” he added.

To support its customers, Kalla Beton includes user instructions and water mixing guidelines on the packaging of its instant mortar products. Using instant mortar allows for faster and more effective application compared to the traditional method of buying cement and sand separately and mixing manually.(*)
