Makassar — Kalla Beton, a subsidiary of Kalla Group, has continued to record steady growth in sales year over year. In the first quarter of 2023, the construction-focused company reached a sales figure of IDR 45 billion. This marks a significant increase compared to the same period in the previous year, when the company posted IDR 33 billion in sales for its range of products, including Ready-Mix Concrete, Lightweight Concrete Blocks, Instant Mortar, and Precast Concrete.
Fajaruddin, Chief Business Development Officer of Kalla Construction, stated in Makassar on Monday that Kalla Beton’s mission for this year is to strengthen its market position within South Sulawesi. “Once we’ve covered the entire South Sulawesi region by 2024, we aim to expand into Eastern Indonesia in 2025, with the goal of becoming the market leader in the eastern region by 2027,” he explained. “Our focus is especially on leading the market in Precast Concrete—an extension of our Ready-Mix product line—followed by Lightweight Concrete Blocks, and finally Instant Mortar,” he added.
Entering 2023, Kalla Beton has further increased its ability to meet customer demand, particularly through expanded production capacity and optimization of instant mortar production. As a result, the company saw a notable increase in sales volume for Instant Mortar in the first quarter of 2023, reaching 68,665 sacks—up 57% from the same period last year, which recorded 43,714 sacks.
Meanwhile, sales of lightweight concrete blocks during the same period reached 20,458 m³. Ready-Mix Concrete recorded 32,335 m³, and Precast Concrete reached 35,221 m².
Fajaruddin also emphasized the company’s commitment to customer education. Every customer purchasing lightweight blocks or instant mortar will be included in Kalla Beton’s product education program. “This training can be directed to construction workers or project partners currently working on-site,” he said.
