MAKASSAR – Kalla Beton, a leading ready-mix concrete provider, is expanding its operations to Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi.
This strategic move aims to support several major projects in the region, including the construction of a smelter.
The expansion is designed to strengthen Kalla Beton’s production capacity and meet the increasing demand for high-quality concrete in ongoing construction projects across the area.
Kalla Beton’s Chief Operating Officer, Ali Syamsu Wairooy, explained that the company will establish a batching plant in Pomalaa with a capacity of 60 m³ per hour, and another in Unaha with a capacity of 30 m³ per hour.
Although the batching plants are still in the mobilization phase, the company has ensured that production will begin soon to meet market needs.
"By establishing batching plants in Pomalaa and Unaha, Kalla Beton is ready to support various projects in the region," said Ali in a written statement on Monday (April 28, 2025).
Pomalaa was selected as the expansion site due to the presence of strategic projects, particularly the construction of a smelter that requires a consistent supply of high-quality concrete.
Kalla Beton is committed to actively contributing to the acceleration of infrastructure development in Pomalaa and surrounding areas.
To support these large-scale projects, Kalla Beton also plans to bring in new equipment, such as truck mixers and concrete pumps.
“Kalla Beton will bring in new equipment to improve concrete delivery efficiency and expand its market reach in Pomalaa and nearby areas,” Ali added.
Kalla Beton is well known for its strong commitment to quality, which remains a key strength of its products.
Through this expansion, Kalla Beton aims to become the top choice for contractors and EPC industry players involved in smelter development in Southeast Sulawesi.
The company also plans to grow its market by targeting private sector projects, especially in light of the public works budget efficiency policy set for 2025.(*)
